NKC MUSIC FEST 2018

NKC Music Fest 2018 was really a success, hats off to Gern Blanzden.  Lots of people having a good time and TONS of great music. 

Squids played on the roof of Chicken and Pickle, I broke my guitar strap getting 4 7/8" inches of air on a Live At Leeds sky jump.  Steve had a Holger Czukay look going but the only kraut was on the dogs.  

Then I high-tailed it over to FM Music where I played a solo set and found vinyl copies of NoMeansNo Wrong and a record of Charlie Haden duets.  FM is a cozy, stacked record store, good stuff.

Later saw Big Iron and Berwanger at Velo Garage And Tap House.

Overall, it confirmed that NKC is a fun place to hang out.  I've always liked going to Screenland Armour for movies but there's lots more going on there now.  As other districts in the city go through change-fatigue and hyper-evolutions, NKC is pretty chill, and meets personal criteria for a hangout: movie theater, record store, book store, smoked corned beef sandwiches.
