SHOCKTOBER (CONTINUED)
I am sticking with the Stephen King vibe this Shocktober and started Salem’s Lot. It is fun taking a walk around Hyde Park at night with all the enormous trees and glowing porch decorations, while listening to this creepy not TOO scary book.
We also watched A Quiet Place 2, a well-done story of adolescent bravery and initiation wrapped in a horror/suspense film.
Fear Street 1: 1994 was great fun, like Stranger Things as a wise-ass meta-slasher. That must have been a seriously over-engineered bread slicer to partition a human head so evenly.
Today we are driving over to St Louis to see Steve Wynn do a night of stories and songs around his new memoir, I Wouldn’t Say It If It Wasn’t True. Then a day of kicking around in St. Louis. Planning to seek out Planet Score records, too.
