BOBBER

BOBBER

#AdobeFresco

Yesterday while walking the dogs I spotted an old red and white fishing bobber in the leaves near the sidewalk in front of a neighbor's house.  With pandemic-grade alertness I flashed back to the excitement of feeling and seeing a struck bobber dunk under the waterline.  Once you see a bobber shudder sideways like that, every bobber has that energy inside it, like an atom ready to blow, even an old dud miles from any pond.

I've had more than one jolt like this, from birds singing, or the winding of an old vine up a trellis, or the mushiness of thawed out turf, or the fattest pregnant robin ever, flying overhead.

Nature kind of has the upper hand right now--maybe that's it. The human capacity to process information has limits.

Iā€™m tuning in.
