Crater Kids 
Someone in the future is dreaming your life 
like bubbles of foam on the sea 
way down deep where there’s craters and heat 
the waves are flatter it seems 
you made some decisions with limited vision 
it’s playing out well day by day 
everyone owns their own kind of gold 
the rest is just image and bleed 

sit down hate 

but don’t stay late 

the day’s always dying

born irate

 and solid state 

with a power supply

 and a demand that won’t die 

someone in the past has their foot on the gas

driving you into the light 

the digital crackle and campfire sparks

are floating up into the sky 

you made some mistakes and some choices (not great) 

even put on shackles and chains 

you gave a couple monkeys a generous ride 

now it’s just ashes and rain

 it’s Christmas Day 

the night’s always dying
