miniBAR 7/28/18

LA CERCA

I dug La Cerca last night at miniBAR and am giving their second to most recent record a Sunday spin today.  I love it.

THE BRANNOCK DEVICE

  
 

The Brannock Device opened with their special brand of Volcano Suns, Minutemen, and House of Large Sizes-inspired postpunk rock and roll.  Right up my alley.

ABOVE THE TORTOISE

Above the Tortoise closed out the night with a weird mix of pre-commercial 90's Seattle sound (the fun part before the butt-rock) and tongue-in-cheek garagey hard rock with off-kilter arrangements.  They were a trip.  I heard Frank Black, QTSA, and a little Turbo Negro in their sound, but I am OLD so what do I know.

We played pretty good, and I appreciated everyone who came out to see the show.
